Idaho Wilderness

Watercolors by Valerie Galindo

“My subject matter is drawn from my love of the wild mountains, deserts, old buildings and ghost towns of the American West. My four children and myriad animals also appear. I always made my living as an artist and spent ten years as an art professor at Boise State University. Early on, watercolor became my medium of choice for its subtleties, fluidity, vibrant color and unexpected surprises. I’ve always been enthralled by the way light can magically transform a scene, and I aim to capture that in my paintings.”

  1. Greetings to these welcome, delicate imaginings from across the ocean. So good to be reminded of wilderness.
