Croeso. Welcome to Holding Ground, an ongoing gathering of writing and art-work that in its own way engages with what I call ‘the poetic’. It forms a growing ‘anthology’, with this word being from the Greek anthos (‘flower’ ) and -logia  (‘collection’, legein meaning ‘gather’). So it is a ‘flower-gathering’. Contributions are by invitation, with warm thanks to the artists and writers.

As A.K. Coomaraswamy famously said in his book The Transformation of Nature in Art: ‘The artist is not a special kind of man, but every man is a special kind of artist’. Work featured here is a celebration of this spirit: the special kind of artist in each of us.

Copyright remains with the authors and artists.
